About Us
Our Story
Broken Prop Coffee Shop was built on two dreams coming together—one dream of building a coffee brand that feels like home, and another of flying high above Alaska’s skies.
For years, I imagined creating a coffee business that wasn’t about polished, big-city luxury, but about Alaska-style comfort: warm, real, and welcoming. A place where people could pause, breathe, and share a cup of coffee that feels like home.
At the same time, my partner was chasing a dream of his own. At 28, after years of saving every dollar he could, he left his home country of Italy to pursue his lifelong goal of becoming a pilot. His determination brought him across the ocean, where he earned his green card and, eventually, the chance of a lifetime to fly in Alaska. For him, Alaska was more than a job; it was the fulfillment of a boyhood dream, a stepping stone on the path to flying the great cargo planes he’d always admired.
Many years later, our paths crossed. We fell in love and discovered a daily ritual that brought our dreams together: every morning, we share a cappuccino and enjoy each other's presence. It’s in those quiet moments, cups in hand, that we realized coffee could become more than a drink. It could be a bridge between our worlds, our cultures, and our dreams.
While Broken Prop Coffee Shop doesn’t have a physical home yet, the dream is alive and well. Right now, our coffee is brewed, roasted, and shipped entirely online so we can share it with adventurers and dreamers everywhere. Every bag sold brings us one step closer to opening the doors of our future coffee shop in Anchorage, Alaska.
Broken Prop Coffee Shop is for people like us: the fliers, the adventurers, and the dreamers. For those who soar through the skies, and for those who are just happy to sit outside and admire a peaceful view. Whether you’re warming up after a flight, starting your day with strong coffee, or simply watching the Alaskan horizon, you’re part of our story.
Every roast we serve carries that spirit: a blend of grit, warmth, and the reminder that dreams, no matter how different, are worth chasing.
